This cool hiking trail isn’t just about walking; it’s like a feast for your eyes, showing off some of the best Instagram spots in the area. When you climb the Path of the Gods, you’ll see amazing views of Positano’s cliffs and the blue sea. These views can be a perfect background for your Instagram photos, capturing the beauty of Positano. For even better pictures, try doing the hike at sunset – it’s when the sky looks amazing. Just remember, this hike is a bit tough and takes about 4 hours, so wear comfy shoes and dress right for the adventure.
Via Cristoforo Colombo
Via Cristoforo Colombo is one of the main streets in Positano that you really shouldn’t skip. Seriously, every corner is like a picture-perfect moment waiting to happen. I’ll also talk more about some really cool places along this street that you won’t want to overlook. Besides its picture-perfect spots, this street has a romantic vibe. You can walk along the street or sit on a terrace there with your special someone and just enjoy the beauty of the vertical city.
Bench in the fence
As you walk down Via Cristoforo Colombo, you’ll come across several benches offering a fantastic view of Positano’s vibrant buildings perched on the cliffs. Whether you’re just visiting or love taking photos, this place is like a comfy seat with the bonus of enjoying the unique charm of Positano. Isn’t this a perfect postcard view?
Le Sirenuse
While wandering along Via Cristoforo Colombo, you’ll spot a fancy hotel known as one of the best and priciest in Positano – Le Sirenuse. It’s famous because lots of Hollywood stars have stayed there. The hotel’s fame in Positano is well-deserved, and another major reason for this is, once again, the breathtaking view. Even if you’re not a guest at Le Sirenuse, you can still have a drink at Franco’s Bar. Savor a drink while capturing fantastic photos with the vibrant houses perched on the cliff in the background.
Il Tridente terrace
When you’re searching for the best restaurants with a great view in Positano, Il Tridente is likely to appear among the top results. Quick tip, getting a table there can be a bit tricky, so make sure to plan ahead and book early. Here you can We ended up on a waiting list and got a call for a brunch spot, but let me tell you, the daytime view was totally worth it, and the food was delicious!
Now, about that view – Il Tridente restaurant is part of Poseidon Hotel, situated on the hill opposite the Bench on the Fence. This means you get a different look at Positano. The terrace is really awesome, full of colorful flowers and live music. I highly recommend checking it out. If you’re also searching for a hotel with a fantastic view, consider checking out Poseidon Hotel; the view from there is absolutely breathtaking.
Positano photos from the Sea
A lot of people will tell you that when you’re in Positano, you’ve got to get on a boat and see the city from the water. Believe me, it’s totally worth it. Whether you go for a group tour or a private boat, the view from the water is just fantastic! The way the light plays on the cliffs and buildings is enchanting, creating those perfect picture moments. We opted for a day trip to Capri, making it a double win – exploring Capri and capturing photos of Positano from the water.
Souvenir and ceramics shops
Positano is not only about stunning views but also a fantastic spot to get cool souvenirs. You’ll spot lots of little shops with bright, hand-painted ceramics that really capture the Amalfi Coast vibe. You can find all kinds of things – fancy plates, tiles, cute vases, and small items to remember your trip. These ceramics aren’t just souvenirs; they’re like bits of Positano you can take back with you. Plus, they make a perfect backdrop for your Instagram shots! I’ll share a couple of photos I took. Don’t worry; you’ll find these shops all over Positano.
You’ll definitely locate the spot above Via Cristoforo Colombo.
Stairs up the hill
Our accomodation was up on the hill, giving us an awesome view of Positano each morning. If you take the stairs to the very top, you’ll find the spots I’m talking about. Just a heads up, there are about 500 stairs to climb – it’s a bit tough, but totally worth it to see and take photos of Positano from the very top. There’s also a bus heading in that direction every 30 minutes, but I think everyone should experience the stairs at least once in Positano to truly appreciate the city’s beauty.
The fruit car
If you’re driving along the coast outside Positano, you’ll come across the fruit car typically situated between Positano and Villa Treville. If you don’t have a car, you can also take the Sita bus. It’s an excellent chance for Instagram-worthy photos. Make sure to wear vibrant colors and let your imagination take off!
Fiordo di Furore
While this location might extend beyond Positano’s borders, it’s famous for its small beach and can still be a good addition to your Positano photos collection. To get to Fiordo di Furore, just follow the road along the Amalfi Coast between Positano and Amalfi. Keep an eye out for signs pointing to the fiord, and be ready for a quick walk to reach this special spot. By the way, if you’re planning to explore other towns on the Amalfi Coast, you need to read this.
Tips for Photographers
- Golden Hours: Plan your visit during the golden hours of sunrise or sunset for soft, warm lighting that enhances the beauty of the fjord.
- Angles Matter: Explore various angles to capture the bridge, cliffs, and sea. The fjord offers plenty of vantage points for diverse compositions.
- Weather Considerations: Fiordo di Furore can take on different personalities depending on the weather. Embrace the dramatic effect of stormy seas or the tranquility of calm waters.
Fornillo Beach
Fornillo Beach is a smaller and quieter spot in Positano comparing to Spaggia Grande. You can reach it through a tunnel near the end of Spiaggia Grande. Just walk through the tunnel, and you’ll be closer to Fornillo. Once on the other side, you can seek guidance from locals or follow the signs leading to the beach. This beach stands out with its colorful umbrellas and tranquil atmosphere. Just keep in mind, it’s a rocky beach, so comfy shoes are a good idea.
I strongly suggest visiting the beach early in the morning when it’s less busy, providing an excellent opportunity to take some stunning shots.
Delikatessen
On our way to the town center, there was a market that captured my attention. It looked more like a fruit shop, and we often stopped there for groceries. The atmosphere felt very warm and local, adding a touch of Positano vibes to our perfect pictures. While you’re in Positano, make sure to find Delikatessen market (here is the exact location), take some lovely photos, and immerse yourself in the Italian atmosphere while savoring a limoncello on their stairs.

Lastly, remember to snap photos everywhere you go. Each street in Positano is like a little piece of heaven with its own special charm. Wander through the narrow streets and soak in the city’s vibe.
